We are excited to be hiring a Dental Assistant to join our dental team We are a newly constructed Pediatric Dental office looking for someone who will match our enthusiasm for positive patient experience, patient education, and collaboration.

Hours:
Monday - Thursday and some Saturdays.

and a self starter with a high standard of care. Pediatric Dental experience is preferred, but not required.

Job Summary

Summary of Essential Job Functions:


  • Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures as instructed
  • Prepare treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
  • Record medical and dental histories
  • Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
  • Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing on instruments
  • Provides diagnostic information by taking radiographs; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
  • Responsible for patient flow, keeping treatment rooms neat and organized
  • Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions as prescribed and directed.
  • Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines and adhering to infectioncontrol policies and protocols.
  • Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques as instructed
  • Participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient service.
  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies
  • Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings
  • Ability to project a positive, warm and professional image
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask, take initiative and anticipate the needs of others
  • Works well in a team with humor, enthusiasm, respect & integrity

Minimum Requirements:


  • Current basic life support (CPR) certification. (Course can be provided for you if you are not in compliance)
  • Xray certification
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocols.
