We are excited to be hiring a Dental Assistant to join our dental team We are a newly constructed Pediatric Dental office looking for someone who will match our enthusiasm for positive patient experience, patient education, and collaboration.

Hours:
Monday - Thursday and some Saturdays.

Job Summary
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures as instructed
- Prepare treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
- Record medical and dental histories
- Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
- Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing on instruments
- Provides diagnostic information by taking radiographs; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Responsible for patient flow, keeping treatment rooms neat and organized
- Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions as prescribed and directed.
- Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines and adhering to infectioncontrol policies and protocols.
- Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques as instructed
- Participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient service.
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies
- Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings

- Ability to multitask, take initiative and anticipate the needs of others

Minimum Requirements:
- Current basic life support (CPR) certification. (Course can be provided for you if you are not in compliance)
- Xray certification
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocols.
