Nature of Work:

Performs skilled work in the area of communications. Receives and relays messages via two-way radio, monitors telemetry systems, or performs general office clerical tasks as required. Work is performed under general supervision. Performance is reviewed while in progress for technical accuracy and judgment through direct observation and results obtained.




WORK SCHEDULE:
Includes days and evenings and can change based on division needs and staffing issues.


Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

Certificate and six (6) months to one (1) year dispatching and computer experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Some positions require the ability to type
(25 WPM). Must pass typing test**.


Evening and weekend work hours may be required.

Required to work in the event of any Emergency
and during Hurricane Season Emergeny

Supplemental Information:


City of Orlando Benefits

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
