    Description
    Summary

    Collaborates with educators and students in schools to enhance teaching quality and student learning across core subjects (reading, language arts, math, science, or social studies), with a specific emphasis on reading/language arts or math. This position is project-funded and renewed annually.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Supports teachers and grade-level teams in implementing the Georgia Standards of Excellence
    • Assists educators in enhancing classroom management and environment through effective instructional approaches
    • Examines student and teacher assessment data to assess teaching and learning efficiency per concept taught
    • Reviews student test data to identify trends, outcomes, needs, and effective practices for teacher and staff awareness
    • Proposes adjustments to existing practices, methods, and assessments as required
    • Demonstrates, supervises, and evaluates the application of effective teaching methods
    • Recommends optimal practices to achieve desired student learning results
    • Acts as a facilitator for professional development between Title I/Curriculum and the school
    • Organizes on-site professional development sessions as necessary
    • Delivers professional development sessions within the school premises as needed
    • Keeps faculty informed about professional development opportunities
    • Participates in regular professional development activities
    • Undertakes additional Title I duties as delegated by the Principal or Title I Grant Manager
    Educational Requirements

    For Elementary Level: Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Elementary Education)
    For Middle or High School Math: Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Mathematics); For Secondary Reading and Language Arts: Bachelor's Degree (specifically in Reading, English, or Language Arts)

    Certification/Licensure

    For Elementary Level: Must possess or be eligible for a valid teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education applicable to Elementary School
    For Middle School Math: Must have or be eligible for a clear teaching certificate in Middle Grades Mathematics (4-8) or Mathematics
    For Middle School Reading or Language Arts: Must have or be eligible for a valid teaching certificate in Reading (P-12), Middle Grades Reading (4-8), Middle School Language Arts (4-8), or English
    Completion of LETRS training is preferred for Middle School Reading and Language Arts
    For High School Math: Must have or be eligible for a valid teaching certificate in Mathematics
    For High School Reading and Language Arts: Must have or be eligible for a valid teaching certificate in Reading (P-12) or English
    Completion of LETRS training is preferred for High School Reading and Language Arts

    Experience Qualifications

    Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience required

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    • Effective use of professional teaching strategies and understanding of curriculum-based assessments
    • Passion for assisting at-risk students and supporting teacher development
    • Strong communication skills with adults and students of all levels
    • Proficient in technology usage
    • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
    • Capability to juggle multiple tasks and collaborate with various groups effectively
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
