Traffic Engineering Services DE, LLC is a rapidly growing company that provides traffic control and/or services to clients throughout the states of Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. Our corporate headquarters is in Elkridge, MD. The Safety Leader position will collaborate with the Helix Traffic Solutions, Executive Vice President of Safety and Risk in developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of a continuous improvement safety culture for each (insert brand) branded location.


Essential Functions

  • Lead and improve the Traffic Engineering Services DE, LLC safety initiatives by providing comprehensive training, safety awareness, administrative oversight, and timely incident reporting
  • Ensure that all company personnel are trained regarding safety specific functions such as flagging, safe driving, traffic control setup, etc.
  • Maintain training records and documentation
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
  • Conduct facility and project audits to evaluate and improve overall safety performance and risk reduction
  • Assist in obtaining information on all claims (Workers Compensation, General Liability, Auto, etc.) in accordance with established company and insurance carrier guidelines.
  • Conduct or arrange safety training as identified
  • Maintain OSHA recordkeeping and other administrative requirements related to safety operations for all locations
  • Administration/ procurement of the Kohl-Tech GPS based vehicle program
  • Administration of a substance abuse testing program per the Traffic Engineering Services DE, LLC employee handbook
  • Administration of contractor prequalification systems (Avetta, ISN, Browz, etc.)
  • Foster and build professional relationships with customers, service providers, regulators

Skills and Abilities:


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual is an added plus
  • Supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent organization skills, time management, and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work around schedules and needs of the business

Required/ Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • College degree or demonstration of working toward a college degree in safety/ civil engineering a plus.
  • Total of 5 years or more direct EHS experience (preferably in construction) with supervisory experience a plus.
  • Professional certifications a plus (OSHA 500, CHST, ACSP, FA/ CPR Trainer)
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office
  • Excel, Word, PPT) required.
  • Working experience with insurance claims (data collection, reporting, claim reviews).

Pay:
From $70,000.00 per year

  • Certified Safety Professional (preferred)
  • OSHA 30 (preferred)

  • Elkridge, MD preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Elkridge, MD 21075: Relocate before starting work (required)

Willingness to travel:
