    L3Harris' Communication Systems division is looking for a Scientist-level Systems Engineer to become part of our team. The role will be stationed at our Salt Lake City facility.

    Position Overview:



    This individual will lead the design and structure of communication systems from a technical viewpoint, overseeing technical aspects for Department of Defense (DoD) projects. The Systems Engineer will manage the complete support cycle of communication systems from conceptualization to product discontinuation. This entails tasks such as customer meetings, proposal drafting, and customer requirement handling. Responsibilities also involve technical documentation, project management, prototype construction, integration, verification, system deployment, and ongoing technical support during the system's life cycle.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Leading systems engineering activities, including project management and task organization
    • Analyzing requirements, assigning them to respective areas, and ensuring traceability to customer specs
    • Creating design documentation, technical specs, test plans, and ensuring compliance with specifications
    • Ensuring technical performance and quality adherence
    • Conducting design reviews for internal and external audiences
    • Participating in schedule/budget planning, risk management, and team management
    • Overseeing system integration, verification, and qualification
    • Involvement in customer interactions, proposal responses, and new business development activities

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Graduate degree with significant relevant experience, or extensive experience in systems engineering
    • Active US DoD Security Clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance
    • Experience in military-related product development
    • Knowledge of networking systems and lab work
    • Proficiency in hardware/software development and lab integrations
    • Strong leadership skills and ability to guide project vision
    • Expertise in communication theory and digital, RF, mechanical, and network design
    • US DoD clearance or ability to obtain one
    • Familiarity with LTE, 4G, and 5G systems
    • Skills in requirements management, risk management, and project planning
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills
    • Proficiency in various tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and DOORs
    • Experience with software programmable architectures and system integration
