    JOB SUMMARY:
    This individual is responsible for providing a friendly and efficient patient experience, answering telephones, maintaining patient files, distributing daily correspondence, and ordering inventory of clerical supplies


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    1. High school diploma. 2. Basic typing, English and mathematical skills. 3. Medical experience preferred. 4. Computer experience.


    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    1. Experience answering multi-line telephones promptly and courteously. 2. Professional appearance. 3. Strong organization with attention to detail. 4. Demonstrated ability to treat patients and co-workers respectfully. 5. Empathetic personality with concern for patients needs. 6. Initiative to solve problems and complete projects. 7. Positive attitude.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Assists patients as they check out, i.
    E., next appointment or schedule referring appointments, completes superbill, accepts payment, etc. 2. Answers the phone in a friendly and helpful manner. 3. Promptly and efficiently assures completion of patients chart and miscellaneous correspondence, etc. 4. Maintains organized patient files. 5. Reschedules patients. 6. Calls patients to reschedule appointments, if necessary, to assure adequate clinic flow. 7. Reviews, copies, and distributes correspondence, faxes and front office mail. 8. Balances cash drawer daily, checks fee tickets for accurance, and complete daily deposit at the end of the day. 9. Informs and monitors after hour call messages. 10. Maintains proper opening and closing procedures. 11. Keeps inventory of clerical supplies and re-orders as necessary. 12. Greets and orients patients as they arrive for their appointments when check in is unavailable. 13. Monitors the postage meter and enters postage when needed.
