OVERVIEW:
Your next opportunity awaits Ford of Upland, a leading automotive dealership, is seeking a skilled and experienced Service Manager to join our team.
Ford of Upland is a high-volume dealership with several technicians, service advisors in addition to a 2nd shift and mobile teams.
SUMMARY:
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the service and repair of vehicles brought to the dealership. The main responsibilities include operations, profitability, employee supervision and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fulfill all service activities needed to meet or exceed operating plan goals
- Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees and monitor payroll
- Understand and enforce the manufacturers' warranty policies and procedures
- Keep abreast of, and comply with Federal, State, and local regulations that affect Service & Parts operations
- Maintain the highest possible standards of workmanship
- Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
- Control the performance of the department using: Daily Operating Control, efficiency and productivity control, comeback reports, warranty reports, telephone surveys, and monthly forecasts
- Monitor repair order trends, such as number of repair orders completed, number of items per repair order, dollar sales per repair order, dollar sales per Service Advisor
- Partner with HR and upper management to make service department hiring and disciplinary decisions
- Reinforces company policies and adheres to company standards
- Successful interactions Customers, Service Advisors, Technicians, Parts Associates, Parts Managers, Sales Managers and other store Associates
- Complete service department reporting and monthend procedures on time
- The willingness to follow up with customers
- Other duties as assigned
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION:
- Experience with raising customer experience satisfaction index scores with continuous monitoring ability to make necessary improvements
- Meet maximum production
- Control costs
- Build customer relationships
- Manage assets of the department
- Handle customer complaints and maintain high customer satisfaction monitor customer service trends
LEADERSHIP:
- Successfully lead team of employees
- Hold daily and monthly staff meetings as required covering key information
- Receive, communicate and hold staff accountable to policy and procedures, requirements and updates
- Ability to produce good employee relationships and create a great work environment
- Set goals and objectives for team
- Assist all subordinate service and sales personnel in all phases of their job descriptions
- Facilitate, conduct, or send employees to appropriate training as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ford Experience a must
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Highvolume dealership experience required
- Five years of experience in an auto repair facility
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient knowledge of dealership computer systems
- Experience and desire to work with technology
