    Job Description:

    As a Principal Software Engineer at Regions, you will leverage technology to tackle complex business challenges, lead innovative solutions, and oversee the development of cloud native applications that support Regions' transformation and modernization efforts.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Manages system design, development, deployment, acquisition, and maintenance for cloud native application systems
    • Develops tech solutions to enhance internal business functions, resolve issues, and support business opportunities
    • Creates and improves operational processes for regulatory and audit compliance
    • Applies a collaborative approach to system design and development
    • Evaluates system performance requirements and ensures interface compatibility
    • Builds resilient, scalable applications for large user bases
    • Assesses existing systems for effectiveness and efficiency
    • Independently handles new and unique challenges
    • Applies 12-Factor Application principles in cloud native development
    • Acts as a subject matter expert and drives continuous improvement
    • Mentors junior engineers and supervises team activities

    This position is exempt from overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act and includes incentives.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field
    • Minimum five years' experience building cloud native enterprise applications in a lead role

    Preferences

    • Advanced expertise in data structures and algorithms
    • AWS/Azure Solution Architect Certification
    • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
    • Experience with domain-driven design (DDD)
    • Knowledge of 12-Factor application principles
    • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana
    • Working knowledge of Service Mesh (Istio/Consul)

    Additional Job Description

    • Extensive experience in DevSecOps
    • Proficiency in Observability tools
    • Cloud experience, preferably AWS

    Position Type

    Full-time

    Compensation Details

    Compensation varies based on factors like experience, skills, performance, and job location. The target pay range for this position is between $139,268.22 and $187,509.00 USD annually.

    Incentive Pay Plans:

    This role is eligible for annual incentives based on individual and company performance, with the opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
