- Recruits, evaluates, and selects volunteer candidates following organizational criteria
- Provides orientation and ongoing assistance to new volunteers during their tenure
- Assigns volunteers based on their interests, skills, and the needs of patients and families
- Represents and advocates for hospice within diverse community settings through educational endeavors
- Promotes cooperative efforts to achieve the organization's mission and vision
- Participates actively in quality improvement and compliance tasks
- Attends Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings and contributes to care planning
- Records volunteer activities in patient files
- Maintains professional qualifications through continuous development
- Supervises and evaluates volunteers, serving as a link between the IDT and volunteer team
- Compiles volunteer reports periodically and as needed
- Collaborates with colleagues to establish operational policies for the hospice volunteer program
- Supports the Business Development team by engaging with referral sources and community events
- Meets productivity benchmarks
- Logs volunteer hours to demonstrate cost savings per Medicare guidelines
- Performs other assigned duties
- High School diploma, post-secondary certification, or relevant degree in fields like communications, public relations, human services, or health; a Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Prior supervisory experience of at least one year is advantageous
- Prior experience in coordinating and leading volunteers is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor and communication etiquette

Position Summary:
This role is accountable for overseeing and enhancing all volunteer programs within a specified region, as well as coordinating community education initiatives. The current area of focus includes Pensacola and Crestview, Florida, with operations based in the Pensacola office.
