Historic Fair Hill is looking for an energetic, responsible, friendly individual with an interest in gardening/farming, teaching children, and working to care for and share green spaces in our community.
Our Garden team works maintaining our teaching garden in the burial ground, our production-based community farm across the street, our arboretum, and our school gardens.

June 1, 2024
Time:
This part-time position requires up to 20 hours per week, reduced hours in the winter but year-round, flexible scheduling, including Saturdays.
Hourly Rate:
$19/hour
Responsibilities
- Care for gardens: planting, watering, weeding, harvesting
- Harvest for and help lead our weekly farm stand
- Help volunteers on our Saturday Community Gardening & Family Fun Days
- Welcome visitors and neighbors
- Work with team to implement garden plan and scheduling
Qualifications
- Some experience and skills working in gardens or farms
- Spanish language preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to create and build positive relationships with a wide variety of people, including children
- Passion for and knowledge of community development, healthy eating, sustainable agriculture, community food systems and food security
- Respectful towards and have an understanding of historically underserved communities, structural injustices, and systemic racism
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
