    General Description /

    Primary Purpose:
    The Department of Art and Design at the University of North Florida invites
    applications for an instructor position in Graphic Design and Digital Media to

    accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art
    and Design. The Department comprises six major areas of undergraduate
    Art History, Ceramics, Graphic Design and Digital Media,
    Painting/Drawing/Printmaking, Photography, and Sculpture. enrichment for faculty and staff through a partnership with the Museum of
    Contemporary Art in downtown Jacksonville, a cultural institute of UNF. addition, the Department maintains an extensive permanent teaching
    collection of approximately 500 works by world-renowned artists.
    The Graphic Design and Digital Media (GDDM) program is a competitive
    practice in visual communication. The curriculum emphasizes design process
    problem-solving that considers social impact as well as commercial potential.
    Coursework focuses on print publications, branding and identity programs,
    typographic design, packaging, UI/UX, and screen-based experiences. faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic

    The GDDM program seeks a graphic design instructor to teach primarily
    foundation-level design and technical courses. about working with pre-majors to help them develop the fundamental skills

    Faculty Position Required Qualifications:
    Expert knowledge of design principles, typography, layout, and process-in
    both print and digital media-is required. operating system, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other design-related software.
    A minimum MA from an accredited institution in graphic design or a related
    field is required at the time of appointment in August of 2024. an accredited institution in graphic design is preferred. position with a path for promotion and a renewable contract. 4/4 teaching load, instructors are required to participate in service to the
    department and university.
    design or a related field, three or more years of college-level teaching
    experience or graphic design industry work experience, and a background in
    motion, web, application, interaction or emerging media design.

    Background Check:
    This position requires a level II background check, which includes fingerprinting. In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check.
