Job Overview:


Under the direct supervision of the Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for the daily activities and job assignments for the Telecommunications staff.

The Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day work activities of the staff, including developing staffing schedule to ensure appropriate and adequate 24-hour coverage, to effectively respond to incoming call volumes.

Handle call outs, time off requests and adjustments to the schedule to ensure staffing as well as staying within departmental budgetary guidelines.

Orient / train new hires; evaluate performance, provide feedback and complete performance appraisals. Cover all operator shifts as required and interact with all departments about on call schedules. Direct activities of the department in accordance with administrative and regulatory requirements. Follow hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality and safety. Act as a role model for operator staff.


Qualifications:


  • Required:_
  • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT
TWO OR FOUR YEARS SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE.

  • Successful completion of all required orientation programs.
  • Strong Customer Service and Communication Skills
  • MS Office Knowledge is a must
  • Knowledge of Hospital Switchboard preferred

Essential Functions:


  • Supervises the completion of routine work. Assumes responsibility for following up on all jobs assigned.
  • Evaluates defective equipment to troubleshoot, indicate, and initiate appropriate repairs.
  • Advises Maintenance Company and personnel as needed. Maintains equipment, repair parts, inventory and initiates requisitions to keep adequate spare and replacement parts in stock.
  • Receives stores and safeguards records and supervises the proper use of needed equipment, materials, tools and supplies.
  • Establishes clear and specific performance standards and expectations for staff members. Follows through on requests and inquiries from staff members and responds to them in a timely manner.
  • Supervises and takes a leading role in the directing of required departmental activities by assigning work orders to appropriate housekeeping personnel, under the direction of the department manager.
  • Demonstrates professional behavior by being technically competent, skilled and responsive to the department s customers in a compassionate, efficient and effective manner.
  • Operates with a high degree of autonomy and authority while working within the framework of CMMC s philosophy and policies. Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep abreast of the latest trends in hospital/department/administration services.
