- Develop detailed project schedules that encompass all aspects of a critical changeover, including but not limited to, maintenance & piping plans, rig pressure testing, equipment cleaning & release, start-up documentation & activities, and staged start-up blocks.
- Monitor ongoing changeover activities and update timeline daily for communication to project team and management.
- Identify barriers to meeting changeover timelines and communicate/resolve issues as needed.
- Manage teams consisting of members from process and plant engineering, operations specialists, plant specialist, maintenance, quality assurance, quality control, superintendents, and operations personnel.
- Schedule and lead daily meetings to identify critical path, prioritize changeover work, and escalate conflicts.
- Identify and lead efforts to enable flawless changeover execution on a consistent basis.
- Lead and participate in Operational Excellence activities including the application of tools such as SMED, Six Sigma, and Lean, to reduce changeover time.
- Perform loss tracking and report changeover spend vs. plan, schedule conformance, and resource utilization Create detailed and lucid reports using changeover data collected during intensification efforts
- Present metrics and results to upper management
- Each individual is responsible to meet fundamental cGMP requirements relating to their conduct and work practices to ensure the SISPQ (Safety, Identity, Strength, Purity, Quality) of the products manufactured at Evonik Tippecanoe Laboratories. This includes but is not limited to the following: Adherence to all written instructions.
- Training on each activity is completed and current and that each employee understands their assigned duties.
- Strict documentation practices are followed to ensure that all steps of the operation are appropriately documented.
- Ensure to maintain the work area in a state of cleanliness and sanitation through good housekeeping practices and applying good personal health practices.
- Ensure the security and safety of the product through the reporting of any potential risk to supervision immediately.
- Ensure the safety of the personnel and product by wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) according to the operation being executed. Each individual should report any action that they believe could impact the SISPQ of any product immediately to supervision.
- Adhere to ESHS programs, rules, & procedures.
- Assume personal accountability for individual behaviors related to ESHS activities.
- Have the appropriate knowledge and tools prior to performing a task. Complete all required ESHS training and remain current with applicable learning plans at all times.
- Report all injuries to Employee Health Services or Security and supervision within the same shift of the incident occurring.
- Inform direct supervision of any ESHS hazards or concerns in the workplace. Provide feedback and coaching to coworkers on both safe and unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Actively participate in the ESHS management system as directed by supervision.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering preferred and at least 10 years project execution and plant experience.
- Project Management Certifications preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with emphasis on oral and written communication
- Strong computer skills in a variety of software packages (MS Office, SAP) Ability to influence groups without having direct supervisory responsibility.
- Ability to cope with the stress of working on several projects concurrently and dealing with critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to provide tactical leadership of a group to achieve a common objective with a broad range of impact.
- Some supervisory experience desired (including coaching employees to improve performance).
- Strong, demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing business processes.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor others in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to identify and improve business processes by analyzing data, developing countermeasures, implementing action plans, and monitoring results.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Flexibility in hours is required as the role supports a manufacturing plant that operates 24/7/365.
- Occasional travel may be involved.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Changeover Project Lead is primarily responsible for providing leadership and support during the preparation, execution, and reporting of intensified changeovers to the Tippecanoe Manufacturing production plants. Primary responsibilities include:
1) preparing holistic strategies to accelerate, and tactically manage the activities associated with, process changeovers in order to achieve conformance with production schedules.
2) create detailed, effective, and lucid changeover project timelines and reports.
3) identify shortcomings in changeover project plan, and during execution, and deliver straightforward improvements while motivating team to accomplish extraordinary tasks to achieve business goals.
4) leading special projects and strategic initiatives in order to make changeovers more efficient across multiple production areas.
