Company Overview:


As a General Superintendent on the $3.3BN Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion Project (HRBT) in Virginia, you will assist the North & South Trestle Manager with various duties such as to provide project management and oversight to assure construction projects are completed to company specifications.

Assure that complete records are maintained, accurate, and up to date. Oversee the daily field operations of assigned project site.


The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) consisting of VINCI Construction, Dragados, and Flatiron has been selected to construct the $3.3BN Design Build project -the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).


The project scope across a 9 mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction.

The twin 45 diameter 1.5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.

The project is expected to continue to the end of 2025.


Principle Accountability and Responsibility:


  • Directly supervise employees.
  • Manage the coordination of all the site equipment, labor, and materials as well as program in time deliveries of material with Office Engineer
  • Constant contact with the PM to ensure schedule, cost, and production is met and to anticipate management required with other third parties
  • Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
  • Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
  • Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules
  • Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports
  • Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations
  • Cost control, minimize unexpected costs and noncommodities in quality
  • Attend coordination and production meetings with the PM to develop activities and amend possible problems related to structures
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Certificate in construction
  • Minimum of 10 years leadership experience in a heavy civil construction environment
  • Minimum 5 years civil construction experience involving roadway, structures, and/or bridges

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
