Job Title:
Outside Sales Representative


Position Overview:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Implement strategic sales plans to meet and exceed sales targets within the assigned territories/customers. This includes identifying key prospects, establishing contact, and conducting sales presentations to showcase our pipette servicing and calibration solutions.

Maintain Accurate Records:
Keep detailed records of prospecting activities, client interactions, and sales transactions.

Provide regular reports to management with updates on sales performance, pipeline status, and any challenges or opportunities within the territory.


Prospect for New Business:

Utilize various prospecting methods such as cold calling, networking events, and industry conferences to identify and engage potential clients.

Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers to understand their needs and position University Pipette Service as the preferred solution provider.


  • Conduct Face-to-Face Meetings: Schedule and conduct face-to-face meetings with potential clients within a 45-mile radius of their home base. Ensure that all meetings are productive and focused on understanding the client's requirements and presenting tailored solutions to meet their needs.

Adhere to Pricing Policies:
Obtain management approval for all pricing proposals before presenting them to clients. Ensure that pricing is consistent with company policies and guidelines to maintain profitability and competitiveness in the market.

Achieve Sales Quotas:
Consistently achieve and exceed monthly sales quotas as established by the company. Monitor progress towards targets and take proactive measures to address any gaps or challenges to ensure goal attainment.


Additional Responsibilities:


Report to the Office:
Provide regular updates to the office regarding client visits, sales activities, and outcomes of meetings. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of sales efforts.

Receive Compensation Package:
Receive a monthly car allowance and a five percent commission on all sales credited to them. Commission payments are made semi-monthly to reward performance and incentivize achievement.

Maintain Product Knowledge:
Stay up to date on University Pipette Service's product offerings, industry trends, and competitive landscape. Attend training sessions, workshops, and product demonstrations to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.

Adhere to Travel Policy:

Adhere to University Pipette Service's travel policy when required to travel out of town to meet with clients in different cities or states.

Ensure compliance with company guidelines regarding travel expenses and reporting.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):


  • Monthly Sales Quotas
  • Sales Conversion Rate
  • Customer Acquisition Rate
  • Activity Metrics (e.g., number of prospecting calls, meetings)
  • Pipeline Management (e.g., pipeline size, velocity)

Training and Development:


Shadowing and Supervised Experience:
Receive training through shadowing and on-site supervised experience in entering labs and speaking to the proper individuals. Gain practical experience and insights into the sales process and customer interactions.

Review Company Materials:

Review the company's website, blogs, and other marketing materials to gain a comprehensive understanding of University Pipette Service's offerings, value proposition, and industry expertise.

  • Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Seven PTO days, which can be used for sick/personal time and can be used at the employee's discretion as it is earned (accrued).
  • Vacation Time: One week after 1 year of employment, two weeks after 2 years of employment, three weeks after 5 years of employment.
