Director / Associate Director, Commercial Analytics to join our growing commercial team.

The
Director / Associate Director, Commercial Analytics will be responsible for leading market research, secondary data analytics, and performance reporting activities to support our expansion into sickle cell disease and competitive intelligence for the Agios portfolio.

This individual will be responsible for independently designing and executing primary and secondary market research and data analyses to generate insights to establish the foundational knowledge base and drive forward launch preparations for sickle cell disease.

The Director / Associate Director will be a critical member of the sickle cell disease launch team, proactively engaging cross-functional partners to integrate insights and ensuring the team is connecting the dots across the team.

This role will be highly visible to brand, commercial, and executive leadership as Agios expands into sickle cell disease.


What you will do:


  • Manage market research and market analytics efforts that provide valuable customer and motivated insights and thereby support Agios' commercial resolutions in preparation for the sickle cell disease launch
  • Solitarily develop actionable market insights through secondary data analytics and primary qualitative and quantitative research; effectively integrate primary and secondary research to inform brand / commercial strategy and proactively anticipate questions / next steps
  • Provide an impartial external environment assessment based on an indepth understanding and analysis of customer and environmental information; provide recommendations on strategies and tactic effectiveness to effectively blunt potential competitor moves
  • Demonstrate full product, customer and performance knowledge and be interactive in tactical and strategic planning session; clearly demonstrate impact/influence on direction of responsible product's business plans and direction
  • Participate in key teams (i.e., early commercial, brand, portfolio, etc.) to ensure strategic resolutions reflect market intelligence and customer insights
  • Develop prelaunch & post launch reporting plan and metrics for sickle cell disease; support launch dashboard creation to effectively monitor and report commercial KPIs
  • Manage and develop motivated intelligence efforts by gathering and interpreting motivated actions and information that will guide strategic marketing initiatives, clinical development and R&D strategies, and business development
  • Act as an internal consultant to stakeholders across marketing, sales, market access, clinical, regulatory, finance, manufacturing, and other functions, to support strategic resolution making

What you bring:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Life Sciences or equivalent experience; graduate degree a plus
  • 10+ years of direct experience in market research, data analytics, performance reporting, forecasting, motivated intelligence in the biopharmaceutical industry; extensive experience with primary market research, secondary data analytics, and performance reporting required
  • Prior launch experience in motivated markets required, including prelaunch, launch, and postlaunch tactics; active member of commercial launch team with understanding of crossfunctional dependencies and processes
  • Proven initiative capabilities, including influencing crossfunctional partners; ability to proactively challenge internal assumptions and go beyond the "obvious" answer
  • Previous experience with prelaunch branding and postlaunch performance research; demonstrated understanding of the key steps included in the market research process
  • Deep analytical and quantitative / statistical skills
