    In Advanced Mechanical Design we design and test innovative solutions for the future of our business. In this role you will help us make advances in aircraft component and module design.


    This senior-level role is a team leadership design role and is vital to the development of our next generation of aircraft engines.

    This position has the flexibility of optional hybrid schedule once fully trained.

    The hybrid schedule consists of working in the office minimum of 3 days per week and the option to work from home on the other days, based on team/project schedules.

    Job Description

    Roles and Responsibilities
    Develop mechanical designs for assigned hardware and module that satisfy program and internal design requirements.
    Integrate collaboratively with diverse teams from multiple disciplinary functions such as thermal design, aero design, and systems design.
    Communicate risks within their module and components to appropriate stakeholders to help drive to collective decisions on how best to proceed as a diverse team
    Create innovative solutions that benefit the assigned hardware and overall module to meet broad design objectives.

    The person in this role will complete module design reviews and prioritize work for the rotor module across all design engineers and cross functional activities.

    This person will also mentor and assist engineers in their design reviews, drawing releases, setting quality requirements, assembly analyses, and other activities.

    Suggest areas where technology advancements are needed and recommend approaches / programs to make those advancements

    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university or college
    At least 7 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity

    Desired Characteristics
    10+ years of experience in turbomachinery design
    Collaborative style, valuing and enhancing diversity of teams
    Experience in solving mechanical design problems
    Experience in mechanical design for aerospace propulsion systems such as rotors, structures, or airfoil component design.
    Strong oral and written communication skills
    Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
    Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
    Established self-prioritization skills
