- Lead the aerodynamic design and analysis of high- and low-pressure turbine components
- Drive the development of advanced aerodynamic technology to improve engine performance and durability
- Cultivate advanced skills in aerodynamic design, including use of cutting-edge numerical and experimental techniques
- Draw conclusions from component and engine test data to validate aerodynamic designs
- Develop analytical tools/software to improve aerodynamic design and predictive capabilities
- Formulate and execute plans to achieve technical and program requirements
- Develop lean processes to improve organizational productivity and efficiency
- Execute trade studies to meet project requirements, collaborating with horizontal organizations
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering position with at least one year of Turbomachinery background OR a Masters in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 year of professional experience in aerodynamics, acoustic, computation fluid dynamics OR a PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Master's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering relevant to turbomachinery aerodynamics with minimum of 3 years of engineering experience OR Doctorate Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering focused on aerodynamics/compressible flows
- Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and/or aerodynamic testing techniques
- Interest in being a self-starter, utilizing innovative problem solving to drive solutions on complex issues
- Flexible, friendly, and inclusive; comfortable working in multi-disciplinary global teams
- Proven group facilitation and collaboration skills
