The expected pay range for this recruitment is $111, $163, Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $111, $215, Annual Salary).

Required:


  • 10 or more years' experience working in a university or large institutional setting is highly desirable.5 or more years' experience in fire prevention, safety management, or emergency services, demonstrating a clear trajectory of increasing responsibility and leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Fire Protection or Fire Science, engineering, chemistry, physics, and architecture or related field and four (4) years of equivalent related work experience A.S. degree in Fire Protection or Fire Science, engineering, chemistry, physics or architecture equivalent and six (6) years of equivalent related work experience / training. 10 (ten) years of equivalent related work experience/ training.
  • Additional qualifying experience may substitute for education on a yearforyear basis related area and/ or equivalent experience I training.
  • Designation as "Lead Designated Campus Fire Marshal (LDCFM)" by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (or ability to attain this designation within 6 months of hire as a condition of employment).
  • Expert knowledge / understanding of specific EH&S field and strong knowledge of all EH&S fields.
  • Advanced written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills, including advanced political acumen and skill to deal with diverse constituencies in a highly political environment.
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to organize, prioritize and manage the successful completion of highlevel and potentially complex projects within budget and time constraints.
  • Expert skill to effectively represent the organization to state and federal authorities, and community groups.
  • Expert skill in mentoring or overseeing the work of other EH&S technical and professional staff.
  • Expert skill to appropriately use technology and relevant scientific equipment as required.
  • Proven knowledge and expertise in the management of programs and personnel delivering technical and emergency services
  • Strong skills in shortterm planning, analysis, problemsolving, and customer service
  • Proven management expertise to effectively lead and direct subordinate professional staff in different programs.
  • Solid interpersonal skills to effectively motivate others, skilled in facilitation, managing, coaching, and relationship building.
  • Experience in managing and approving fire, life and panic safety provisions for large special events.

Preferred:


  • Professional certification preferred.
