Morrison Hershfield's Integrated Engineering Design (IED) group provides integrated engineering solutions to institutional, industrial, residential and commercial clients with a focus on transit, telecom, waste management, higher education and food/beverage facilities that require reliable and cost-effective infrastructure for both new and retrofit solutions.
The combined skills of our engineers, technicians and support personnel with their diverse backgrounds in design and construction provide clients with a team recognized as leaders in the field.
Responsibilities:
Participates in all phases of commissioning projects which may include a variety of complex features, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of workPerforms engineering design reviews, prepare commissioning scripts and reports, direct client-site testing and manage the training of on-site staffPrepares equipment pre-start-up and start-up proceduresDevelops of standard operating procedures (SOP's) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs); Comprehensive Commissioning documentationPrepares commissioning test procedures and reportsDevelops and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tools to track commissioning projectsPrepares comprehensive reports; recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, list of deficiencies, equipment operation and maintenance manualsReviews design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittal, and other documentation pertinent to commissioningParticipates in commissioning activity meetingsInterfaces with construction contractors, vendors, and testing techniciansConducts tests and compile all testing procedure resultsIntegrates system testing; Load Bank Testing; Compilation of all testing procedure resultsDevelops and administers functional tests for various building MEP systems, such as: HVAC air and water distribution systems, air handling units, pumps, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, UPS, Generator, Switchgears Power Distribution UnitsQualifications:Minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering service delivery organization/and or consulting /design environment with proven work-related experience in MEP systemsData Center / Mission Critical Experience is preferredPrevious experience working on a mission critical facility construction site a plusTechnical/Technologist Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or accredited college or university a plusLicensed PE or EIT in Electrical Discipline a plusLEED AP accreditation a plusCXA, AABC, ACG certification desiredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal (this role requires heavy amount of writing, documentation, and client interaction)
High competency in technical writing, systems development and utilizationExperience using Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCADExtensive knowledge of MEP systems and controls design, installation and operation a plusThis position will require domestic travel and may require international travelProven track record of performing commissioning planning, functional testing, building performance investigation including re-commissioning, retro-commissioning and/or preventative maintenance and building system troubleshooting experience for new and existing buildingsJob Type:
