Overview:

The Weequahic Family Success Center (WFSC) is a family oriented, neighborhood gathering place where all community residents in Newark's South Ward can go for support, information, programs, and services.

The WFSC enriches the lives of children and families, while strengthening neighborhoods.

The WFSC Outreach Coordinator is a community leader who has excellent networking and communication skills to establish partnerships with organizations in the community, and to address family needs in the area of Newark's South Ward.

This position requires the ability to plan and facilitate workshops and events, and recruit and manage volunteers to assist with these events.

This individual is part of a team that supports families with respect, assists families in getting needed services.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree or 60 semester credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning; Ability to establish effective partnerships with community organization and other social service providers; Highly effective written and verbal communication, as well as excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills; Experience with computers, especially Microsoft Office Suite; Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and vehicle availability are required.

General Responsibilities:
Responsible for resource and volunteer development by integrating into the community and building mutually beneficial relationships with parents, faith community, businesses, advocates and key stakeholders (i.e. schools, service providers, local and county government, and other agencies); Recruit, interview, train, mentor, evaluate, schedule and supervise all volunteers; Assist FSC Director and the marketing department with promotional materials; Participate in all fund raising efforts for the FSC.


Pay:
$43, $45,000.00 per year
