Microbiologist II - Madison, WI

At our Madison location, in operation since 1906, you will be part of a team that is a global leader in the lactic acid bacteria industry for >100 years.

Our research focuses on the discovery of next generation probiotics, postbiotics, prebiotics, and biological solutions driven by our state-of-the-art microbiome research using a systems biology approach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct routine identification testing associated with product release and investigations.
Lead and develop internal identification program.
Work crossfunctionally to transfer, validate and, implement industry leading genetic identification methods.
Train and mentor employees in the performing of routine identification methods.
Communicate results in a professional and timely manner.

Job Requirements:

Experience/Skills Required:

Experience commensurate with an M.S., or B.S./B.A. in micro/molecular biology or related field with a minimum of 25 years of industry/academic experience.
Trained in microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills for communication of results to internal and external customers.
Experienced in performing PCR and use of associated technology and related software.
Experience performing and analyzing DNA (Sanger) sequencing data is preferred.
