    Description

    Overview:
    Conciliation of assigned GL accounts and DDAs accurately and on time. Spot out of balance situations, fraud, and unusual or old items in assigned accounts and escalate following procedures.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Precise and prompt reconciliation / reporting of assigned portfolio activity to Finance / Audit / SOX to ensure accurate Financial Statements complying with GAAP.
    • Collect and investigate data to generate routine accounting reports including daily, weekly and/or monthly departmental reporting tasks.
    • Conduct research with assistance to address reconciliation discrepancies.
    • Interact with internal cross-functional teams, business partners and investors to aid in resolving routine inquiries/issues.
    • Modify procedures due to process changes or accounting requirements with guidance from Operational Accountants II, III, IV or Manager.
    • Follow established policies, procedures and limits concentrating on observable breaches in Corporate Risk policies.
    • Abide by applicable compliance/operational risk controls following Company or regulatory standards and policies.
    • Cultivate an inclusive environment that mirrors the M&T Bank brand.
    • Uphold M&T internal control standards, including punctual implementation of internal and external audit points coupled with any concerns highlighted by external regulators as needed.
    • Fulfill other associated duties as delegated.

    Education and Experience Required:
    HS Diploma/GED

    Plus 2 years work experience
