Summary:
The Quality System Engineer is responsible for supporting the global integrated Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
This role will support implementation and management of the QMS system, as well as monitoring and tracking trending of key performance indicator (KPI) data for the quality systems.
Job Details:
Assist in the development and maintenance of the QMS to uphold quality and regulatory requirements
Collect and analyze appropriate data to demonstrate the conformity, suitability, and effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate continual improvement
Maintain KPI's and prepare weekly and monthly reports
Utilize process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean to analyze data, identify root causes of quality issues, and implement effective solutions
Support and sometimes lead significant Quality System projects effectively using a working knowledge of project management techniques
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process optimization projects aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing defects, and improving overall product quality
Drive compliance to industry standards
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or similar field, or equivalent experience
2+ years professional experience in quality engineering or related role, 5+ years' experience preferred
Knowledge of and experience managing and supporting QMS systems (Training, Auditing, Document Control, Change Management, Corrective Actions)
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF16949 or similar QMS
Experience in the aerospace or automotive industry preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across levels and functions
Detail oriented, with the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities
Knowledge of business improvement philosophies and their respective tools. e.g. Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often across multiple time zones
Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support international teams
Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
