Investment Accounting Analyst:


Starting salary range:
$75,000 - $85,000/annually

Full-Time, Exempt

This is an in-office position for the first 100 days. Requires in-office work five (5) days per week. Following the first 100 days, staff have the flexibility to work two (2) days remotely. Mandatory in-office work days are Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

Job Summary:

The role of the Investment Accounting Analyst involves managing, monitoring, and reconciling investment accounts, including the preparation of journal entries.

They evaluate limited partnerships, real estate, and illiquid assets using various valuation methods, and oversee program related investments.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Asset Valuation: Evaluate assets using various approaches such as discounted cash flow, comparable sales, and the direct capitalization method.
  • Investment Accounting Management: Oversee and manage Program-Related Investments.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries as needed.
  • Audit Support: Assist in preparing audit schedules for year end audits, providing support in researching files and documents as needed.
  • Staff Training: Train new and current staff on tasks to be performed as support or alternates. Maintain and update training materials and ensure proper dissemination.
  • Special Projects: Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Provide input into modification of accounting processes and procedure to improve efficiency. Provide backup for other finance staff and undergo training as needed. The foundation reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
  • General: As appropriate, assist other departments and work as a member of interdepartmental teams to ensure the effective and efficient operations of CCF. At all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with supervisors and coworkers. Perform other duties as assigned, depending on organizational needs and employee skills.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

Work Experience:3+ years of experience in general ledger accounting functions is required

  • Experience working at a nonprofit is preferred

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:


Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.

Project Management Skills:
Strong analytical and organizational skills are necessary, as well as the ability to take initiative and research tasks.

Technology/Database Skills:

Internet competency and strong computer proficiency, including an intermediate level of Microsoft Office software suite and a familiarity with database software, are required.

Working knowledge of Blackbaud software preferred, with a willingness and ability to learn appropriate database, spreadsheet, and other computer programs

Teamwork & General Skills:
Ability to work well independently and as a team member. Ability to take initiative and follow tasks through to completion. Ability to lead a team toward CCF's goals, leveraging each team member's skill set.


Working Conditions:


  • Requires the ability to sit and work at a desk for several hours at a time.
  • Requires the ability to travel and attend meetings, presentations, and events outside the office, which may require occasional use of a motor vehicle for transportation to other locations.
  • Work may require occasional weekends and/or extended workday.
  • Punctuality and satisfactory attendance are essential functions of the job.
