Teacher - Certified Immediate Supervisor: Campus Director

Salary Range:
$58, $74,750.00
Contract Length: 187 Days


Job Description:


Provides students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in a creative manner that is designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth.

Promotes the mission and vision of the district.


Illustrative Duties:

  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Possesses a solid knowledge of lesson cycle(s).
  • Employs strong classroom management skills and creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Prepares lessons that are data driven and reflect accommodations for individual differences.
  • Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
  • Encourages students to maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and goals of the school.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Assesses the accomplishments of the students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  • Refers students for evaluation by district specialists as required.
  • Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect the students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student conduct. Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior. Maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  • Makes provisions for being available to the students and to the parents for educationrelated purposes.
  • Maintains open lines of communication.
  • Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for support staff and works with department heads.
  • Maintains and improves professional competences.
  • Develops and maintains technological skills to facilitate instruction.
  • Participates in district staff development.
  • Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with colleagues.
  • Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

  • One or more years teaching experience
  • Strong knowledge of reading, writing, literacy development, and/or math
  • Good communication skills in a professional manner both orally and in writing
  • Ability to show empathy and effectively build relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Texas Teacher Certificate

Other Requirements:

  • Maintains good attendance and is punctual and reliable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both
internal and external to the district.

  • Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, bend, climb, and/or be mobile.
  • Ability to travel throughout the district and city by means of private or public transportation. If driving personal (or private) vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and appropriate insurance coverage.
