We're looking for a new
Construction Inspector to help drive the objectives and challenges our valued clients have trusted us to solve for them.


As a SYSTRA US
Construction Inspector you will join a world-class team of high-performing engineers, designers, drafters and others who work collectively to ensure client projects continue to thrive while remaining on track and budget.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Willingness to learn and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with the Resident Engineer, other contract staff, facility staff both in person and via twoway communications
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specs and prepare written contract administration documentation such as daily narratives (work reports), special inspection reports, daily time and material records and document unit price work
  • Identify potential extra work issues and keep the Resident Engineer advised of potential issues
  • Review plans for constructability and prepare comments
  • Ability to conduct preconstruction and construction progress meetings, coordinate multiple work locations, perform audit inspection throughout the construction process, coordinate for quality assurance inspection of completed work
  • Ability to actively coordinate between private business entities at LaGuardia, and the various departments within the facility to successfully complete tenant alteration work
  • Verify safety procedures are maintained and coordinate contractors work with the Facility as needed


  • Work Days: Tuesday

  • Saturday to align with Contractor's work schedule. In addition to night and weekend shift work. Ability to stay late or come in early as needed. Regular day off may fluctuate

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience inspecting construction work varying in size (projects ranging from $500K to $5 million plus) and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift)
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a high SWAC clearance and LaGuardia SIDA card
  • Trained in OSHA 30hour construction safety
  • Working knowledge of NYCBC

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Aeronautical construction experience
  • ICC/NICET Level 3 Asphalt or Highway Construction; ACI Concrete Special Inspector; and Work Zone Safety Certifications
