About the Position


The Director, Educational Programs Development (PD) directs and oversees development of educational professional programs suited for professional development, targeting working professionals, learners, and University alumni.

The individual proactively assesses market opportunities and business needs and develops curriculum or course materials to position the University to capture market share in short-burst learning programs.

The Director, Educational Programs Development (PD) collaborates with colleagues in the Provost's office to coordinate, catalog expansion, course development, program delivery and evaluation.


What You'll Do

  • In collaboration with senior management, lead strategic planning, direction, and development of course catalog and offerings for professional development programs that provide students with needed education and skills to meet the workplace demand.
  • Oversee overall project plan, manage timelines, budget and contracts for the development and sustainability of the professional development course offering.
  • Partner with strategic sourcing and partnerships to identify, shortlist and select key content delivery partners to build the professional development courses.
  • Maintain accountability for the full quality, instructional integrity, and learning outcomes for all the courses that are part of the professional development catalog.
  • Select, mentor, coach and evaluate staff; establish and monitor appropriate employee performance objectives; prepare and present employee performance discussions, including one-on-one meetings and quarterly check-ins; implement mentoring and coaching plans, or disciplinary action, where appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or Instructional Design
  • Ten (10) years of experience, including some prior management experience

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master's degree in Education or Instructional Design
  • Experience in building products in a Corporate Learning/ L&D
  • Ability to design/envision learning solutions for an enterprise
  • Experience with designing learning analytics and driving learning outcomes among corporate learners
  • Proven knowledge in the areas of instructional design, adult learning principles and practices, curriculum development and educational technology
  • High level of conceptual and strategic abilities to develop long range goals and objectives
  • Evidence of innovative, logical decision making and strong management skills
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, relationship building, negotiation and anticipatory abilities
  • Excellent communication, networking, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, as well as a collaborative leadership style
  • Results oriented and able to direct multiple projects and activities
