    Business Manager - Denver, United States - Northeast Paving Inc

    Northeast Paving is

    a full-service construction company, capable of handling projects of every size and scope.

    Our list of services includes roadway construction, railway and bridge construction, asphalt manufacturing and paving, sitework and development, and more.

    Every year, we plan and build hundreds of public and privately funded projects safely, successfully, and with an innovative approach to give our clients the greatest possible value for their investment.

    Northeast Paving is a subsidiary of Eurovia Atlantic Coast, LLC which includes multiple other subsidiaries including Senate Asphalt, Virginia Paving, Dirigo Materials and Cold River Materials.

    General Description

    The Business Manager will oversee all management of the building, including the organization. The Business Manager is responsible for training, development and supervision of field and business administrative staff.
    Key Duties

    Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, job cost accounting, and resolution of billing issues
    Oversee administrative staff
    Review of contracts
    Manage daily sales within business
    Manage DBE reporting
    Obtain and manage contractual insurance
    Oversee the operations of the business and ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to
    Oversee clerical functions, ensure they are maintained and monitored by supporting staff
    Prepare annual budget for the business and ensure adherence to budget
    Serve as main point of contact with public and suppliers for the business
    Oversee the receipt and response to inquiries from the public and potential customers regarding the company
    Oversee the organization and scheduling of business meetings
    Oversee all management of the business building to include:

    Furnishing of business
    Assess needs of business staff and provide supplies accordingly
    Provision of repairs to business as needed and/or solicitation of work to subcontractor to maintain business

    Oversee the hiring needs, scheduling of interviews and the implementation of onboarding process for new employees:

    New Hire Forms
    E‐Verify
    Drug Screening
    Company Benefit Enrollment
    EEO Compliance Tracking

    Maintain database of preferred suppliers, orders and business needs
    Oversee upkeep and maintenance of business
    Oversee health and safety regulations within business
    Attend meetings with other senior staff
    Oversee business bookkeeping, invoicing and corporate compliance
    Qualification Requirements
    General.

    Education and Experience . This position is not an entry‐level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Business Manager.
    High school diploma or equivalent
    Minimum of 7 years of experience in an administrative/support role, with an emphasis on accounting, cost management, and/or payroll functions
    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
    Strong prioritization and organizational skills a plus
    Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
    Physical Demands.


    The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Business Manager to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    Frequent ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
    Frequent ability to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone;
    Frequent ability to operate standard office equipment, using hand and arm dexterity;
    Frequent ability to navigate through office environment, including periodic use of stairs, as needed;
    Infrequent ability to lift general office documents and materials up to 10 pounds;

    Frequent vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Work Environment.


    The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Business Manager may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

    Work generally is performed in an office environment, although periodic visits to construction sites and asphalt manufacturing facilities is required.

    This may expose position to general construction noise and environmental exposures within the OSHA permissible exposure level(s). Noise level in the typical office work environment is quiet.
