Electric Operations Resource Coordinator


Location:
Providence, Rhode Island 02907


Duration: 8+ months contract

  • To manage construction work and resource assignments in the most efficient, cost effective way to meet the work plan for Rhode Island Energy, based on workforce availability, performance, geographic optimization and schedule optimization this includes scheduling to full resource availability, in real time
  • Responsible for scheduling and coordination of short and longterm Opex and Capital construction projects to both internal and external contractor crews, ensuring all customer and project need dates are met
  • Manage all internal RI Energy system and processes in order to deliver a concise, yet all inclusive, project folder to an external contractor who will execute the field work this includes ordering all material and deliveries, providing job cards and drawings and any paperwork/forms, and also includes collecting asbuilts at work completion
  • Monitor work backlog in the area to insure timely completion of all projects
  • Manage, balance and coordinate external and internal resources in order to optimize short and long term resource needs
  • Monitor and review work undertaken by project team in order to ensure appropriate use of materials, tools, equipment or resources and adherence to schedules
  • Identify scheduling and need date risks due to resource constraints, field conditions, material and or equipment issues, and recommend appropriate action
  • Support divisional reliability activities by making sure all activities are scheduled and progressed
  • Oversee the bundling and prioritization of contingency and maintenance work in order to capitalize on opportunity for efficiencies and maximize fleet utilization
  • Facilitate construction meetings with stake holders to ensure optimum scheduling and compliance
  • Act as the primary point of contact, providing advice guidance and support to relevant third parties in order to ensure everyone is informed and aware of changes to construction schedules and decisions/actions taken
  • Experience managing project teams and projects independently.

Able to use direct persuasion to influence others to accept proposals:


  • Should be able to develop relationships with key stakeholders in order to fully explain and support the implementation of RIE policies and processes
  • Understanding of Electrical Overhead & UG Line work, or Substation Work there is normally a separation of duties within the department of Lin vs Substation Resource Coordinatio

Qualifications:


  • An Associates' degree from a technical school is desired
  • 46+ years' related experience, preferably in the utility industry
  • Knowledge and experience of scheduling, operations, project and program management
  • Planning skills including the ability to prioritize assignments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for delivering performance excellence
  • Ability to travel as required to various locations throughout RI with a Valid driver's license

$ $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Education:


  • Associate (preferred)

Experience:

- utility industry: 7 years (preferred)
- data system: 5 years (preferred)


Ability to Commute:

  • Providence, RI preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Providence, RI 02907: Relocate before starting work (preferred)

Willingness to travel:
