- Designs, evaluates and supports equipment for power generation and conversion including inverters.
- Develops engineering drawings (including electrical one-line and three-line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, and equipment wiring diagrams).
- Prepares documentation for engineering changes and product design verifications.
- Evaluates components and processes used in distributed generation systems.
- Writes procedures, specifications, and preventative maintenance plans.
- Works closely with key electrical equipment suppliers to select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications.
- Performs data analysis and interprets data.
- Configures / programs electrical devices such as variable frequency drives.
- Provides engineering support to service personnel.
- Ensure the company's designs meet current regulations and standards.
- Leads a small team of junior electrical engineers as direct reports.
- Mentors team members sharing technical knowledge.
- This is a hybrid position; may work from home up to 3 days per week.
- This position requires 10-15% domestic or international travel required.
- Must possess at least a master's degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 3 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or a related role. In the alternative, at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as an Electrical Engineer or a related role would be acceptable.
- At least 3 years of experience with high voltage design
- At least 3 years of experience with industrial electrical systems design
- At least 3 years of experience with national electrical codes and safety standards
- At least 3 years of experience communicating with technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- At least 1 year of experience renewable energy or utility equipment.
