**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking a highly motivated staff geotechnical and/or civil engineer to support mine tailings storage facility and heavy civil infrastructure design and analysis as part of the Mining group in Reno, NV.
**Job Summary/ Responsibilities:**
+ Performs specific and moderate portions of broader assignments
+ Plans, directs and performs specific and/or moderate portions of mid- to large, complex projects under the supervision of an experienced senior engineer.
+ Plans, implements, performs and oversees geotechnical exploration and laboratory testing programs (30% travel/field time)
+ Plans, oversees and performs geotechnical evaluations including material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analyses
+ Prepares and reviews calculation packages
+ Assisting with the development of geotechnical reports, drawings and specifications
+ Preparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal and client teams
+ Review of geotechnical instrumentation and preparation of instrumentation monitoring reports
**Qualifications**
**Min Requirements**
+ BA/BS + 4 yrs of relevant experience or combination of demonstrated experience and/or education.
+ EIT Certification
+ Valid U.S. Drivers License
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ MA/MS Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Emphasis
+ 6+ years of relevant experience
+ Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 1 year
+ Proficient in the use of industry software such as GeoStudio, Utexas, Grapher and AutoCAD Civil3D
+ Field/Construction experience; tailings or dams experience a plus
+ Familiarity with and preparing design reports, drawings and specifications
+ Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
+ Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills
+ Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
+ Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility
+ Resourceful, highly organized, and detail oriented
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
+ Effective time-management and interpersonal Skills
+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment
**Additional Information**
+ Relocation is not available for this position.
+ Sponsorship may be available for this role.
+ Project site travel required (up to 30%)
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80, $105,
