Position Overview


The position requires the use of computer technology and mathematical skill to prepare an est i m ation of the amount of material needed for the construction of a home in accordance with Company policies.

**Essential Job Duties: - Est i m ates the amount of materials needed for home construction according to company policy and local building code.

  • Assists salesmen as needed with customer orders and materials lists.
  • Assists in trim takeoffs as requ est ed.
  • Provides assistance to contractors as needed.
  • Trains sales representatives in est i m ating techniques.
  • Assist sales staff with blueprint reading and construction procedures.
  • Review actual vs. est i m ated materials on completion of each project.
  • Works on sales/ hardware counter as assigned.

  • Complies with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by location management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  • Minimum education required Technical Degree in engineering or related area.
  • Minimum experience required2 or more years of construction and building materials related experience.
**Special skills required

  • Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials.
  • Ability to interpret building plans in diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
**Special Knowledge required

  • Understanding of measurements and basic math principles.
  • Physical demands include sitting for extended periods of time, standing and walking, bending or stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
