**Fleet Manager (Austin, TX)**

Austin, TX / Operations / Full-time Employment Care Access is seeking a certified technician, an expert in managing fleet logistics, who can oversee a fleet of 50 clinical research vehicles that are involved in our mobile operations. As our Fleet Manager, you will be in charge of a fleet of retrofitted ambulances and trailers that function as mobile sites (Mobile Site Vehicles) supporting patient enrollment, education, and operations related to clinical trials. These mobile units are currently deployed across the country in an effort to accelerate clinical trials required for FDA approval of vaccines, treatments, drugs, and diagnostics. Care Access is seeking a certified technician, an expert in managing fleet logistics, who can oversee a fleet of 50 clinical research vehicles that are involved in our mobile operations. This role also supports field operations that involve our vehicles or other heavy equipment such as generators, space refrigeration, and heavy-duty tents. + Ensures vehicles are fit for operation by keeping track of their health, determining vehicle issues, organizing the maintenance schedule, attending unscheduled services, managing fleet and repair shop expenses, and keeping administrative vehicle records up-to-date.

+ Take charge of the improvement of vehicles and equipment, continuously expanding vehicle functionality to solve clinical research needs, drawing schematics of designs that can be properly transferred to service providers for retrofitting based on operational requirements.

+ Contract and oversee specialists who can install appliances and devices inside the vehicles, as well as managing teams of mechanics who may perform services on the vehicles.

+ Oversee outfitting of vehicles with electrification systems, workstations, GPS and camera devices, lighting systems, and others, to ensure effective operations. Assess equipment alternatives to outfit vehicles for distinct clinical operations purposes depending on the protocol. This equipment may include air filtration systems, advanced clinical UV light machines, ultra-low freezers, generators, ventilation or security systems.

+ Managing teams (internal or external) in the outfitting of vehicles and trailers. The vehicle enhancement project will involve adding instrumentation and devices such as electrification systems, workstations, GPS and camera devices, lighting systems, and others, to ensure effective operations. It will also involve assessing equipment alternatives to outfit vehicles for distinct clinical operations purposes depending on the clinical protocol. This equipment may include furniture, air filtration systems, advanced clinical UV light machines, ultra-low freezers, generators, ventilation or security systems.

+ Plan, procure, manage and reorder any equipment and supplies needed to perform relevant maintenance tasks at Care Logistic Center. Support site operations by driving vehicles when needed, loading and unloading equipment on/from vehicles, setting up new sites or pop-up deployments.

+ In addition, should be able to perform onsite each of the following: oil changes, changing brake pads, change hoses, diagnose/fix/replace battery onsite, generator service.

+ Industry or manufacturer certification required, ASE preferred

+ 5+ years of experience working with vehicle diagnostic and repair, fleet management, and personnel management

+ 3+ years electrical repair experience

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by positive interactions with coworkers, management, clients and vendors

+ Experience managing operational budgets

+ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

+ Able to travel 50% of time within USA with expenses paid for

+ Curiosity and passion to learn, innovate, able to take thoughtful risks and get things done, friendly

+ Experience performing maintenance on: Brakes, Engine, Transmission, Suspension, Tires, HVAC, Generators (gas or diesel)

+ Working knowledge of medical and research terminology

+ Working knowledge of federal regulations (e.g. HIPAA, GCP)
