Operate offline and auxiliary binding/finishing/packaging equipment. Set up and adjusts machine and equipment for production runs. Clean, lubricate and maintain machine to ensure its optimum operation. May troubleshoot issues and submit requests for maintenance as needed. May coordinate the assignment of crewmembers and may provide training for new team members.


Requires knowledge of standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment.

Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment.

Typically, the adjustments performed at this level are routine and the need for such adjustments are readily apparent.


Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret written work orders or other job specifications containing collating requirements which indicate the number and sequence of webs required to complete the work and to maintain dimensional accuracy in accordance with instructions provided.
  • Knowledge of the quality and machining requirements of various coated and uncoated types of paper stock.
  • Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and to refine such adjustments for the weight, color, machinability and quality of paper stock being used and to prevent machining impressions on the printed materials.
  • Must be able to calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machines.
  • Skill in using the full range of standard and specialized tools and devices to adjust and maintain the functional accuracy and operating conditions of the collating machines.
  • Thorough knowledge of the setup, operating requirements, procedures, capabilities and limitations of the collating machine to perform the full range of standard and specialized folding, collating and cutting of printed materials to complete a combined finishing product.

Disclosure Statement:

The pay range for this role at the noted location is
$17.17 to $18.52 per hour.

The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to:
education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location.

In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
