Description
The Manhattan Nursing Home of The New Jewish Home is in search of an Associate Director of Clinical Resource Systems/HIM to become part of our team. This role will be based on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity of patient data in both paper and electronic formats within The New Jewish Home.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure organized, accurate, and secure maintenance of patient records.
- Develop and update policies for the collection and storage of patient information.
- Oversee accurate diagnosis coding and timely processing of patient data requests.
- Collaborate with legal and risk management teams for claims processing and issue reporting.
- Serve as the privacy officer for HIPAA standards adherence.
- Manage, train, and evaluate HIM department staff.
- Maintain payroll accuracy and meet budget expectations.
- Stay updated on health information regulations.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Professional role model and excellent communicator.
- Familiarity with DOH and accrediting bodies' regulations.
- Proficiency in software programs and electronic medical records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
- AHIMA certification and RHIT certification.
- Minimum five years HIM experience with two years in a supervisory role.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and self-motivation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting while working on the computer.
