    AECOM has a position available fora

    Lead Process Piping Engineer

    to oversee our talented team of piping designers within the Energy practice Engineering Center of Excellence.

    For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.

    Our team provides a wide range of mechanical engineering services across markets sectors including oil and gas – upstream, midstream and downstream refining, industrial processes (chemical, petrochemical, food and beverage), mining/bulk material handling and future and renewable fuels (such as hydrogen, renewable natural gas, biogas, carbon capture).We are looking for an enthusiastic up and coming leader to promote our skills to new clients and maintain our deep existing client base.

    Qualified candidates will have a with a technical diverse background in process piping/mechanical engineering coupled with experience supervising design teams and leading tasks on projects.

    The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

    Team supervision and leadership:
    Support Director of Engineering in advancing the culture of technical excellence and accountabilitySupervise and lead a team of piping designers through their individual and team technical development for greater utility to the organization and overall career satisfactionLead improvements project piping efficiencies by creating, updating, and implementing group specific standards/templates and researching and recommending software packages/plug-insProvide input to management on project resourcing and staff forecasting needsDevelop task and deliverable list with associated hours estimate and schedule to support business development activitiesActively support recruiting effortsSupport projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase, preliminary and detailed design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning


    Project participation:
    Collaborate with multi-discipline technical leads to integrate piping across the full spectrum of projects and client solutions either as engineer or designerFunction as technical piping engineering lead on projectsPerform engineering calculations to support and direct construction deliverables (specifications, reports, drawings)Generate piping specificationsProvide quality control reviews of work developed by othersMonitor your teams project progress to ensure quality, on-time and on-budget delivery of projectsEnsure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of the design workParticipate in and present engineering and design work at client meetings including those requiring occasional travel

    Level specific responsibilities:

    Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projectsProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertiseApproves and signs off on workProvides technical expertise and able to present complex technical solutions to clientsPerforms quality control reviews of work developed by others.

    Participates in development of technical proposals.
    Provides estimates for the engineering budget and scheduleDCS—Energy

    Qualifications


    Minimum RequirementsBA/BS (Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering preferred) from ABET accredited university8+ years of relevant process piping engineering and design experienceHigh level design and CAD skills and technical competency in the field of mechanical and/or piping engineeringDemonstrated experience in AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or CadWorxEIT CertificationAble to participate in field walks and create field sketches, take dimensions, climb ladders, etc.

    as necessaryPreferred QualificationsCurrent professional engineering license (PE) preferredPhysical design experience for industrial facilitiesHighly Proficient in AutoCAD 3D design software (especially Plant 3D)

    Highly Proficient with engineering software packages:

    Caesar II, Pipe-Flo (or other hydraulic modeling application), AspenTech applications and/or Applied Flow Technology applicationsAdaptability and fervent curiosity in learning new software and applicationsExperience working in collaborative model environments (e.g.

    Navisworks)Experience in the management of Common Data Environments including ProjectWise, BIM 360Experience leveraging laser scan or other data sets to inform design developmentDemonstrated experience in participating complex, multi-discipline programs/projects and CAD teamsComprehensive knowledge of industry (incl safety) standards (e.g.

    API, ASME)Interest in developing talented technical teamsAble to lead engineering tasks with strong communication skills (written and verbal)Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish.
