Minimum Qualifications is any of the following:
Education High School diploma, completion of civilian or Air Force MILSATCOM or equivalent training/certification. Two years' experience in MILSATCOM maintenance.

BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Operates and maintains the Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), Cryptographic, and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) system.
Also operates and maintains other mission communications such as Space Command Digital Integrated Network (SDIN) and Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) telephone system.
Ensures other mission communications will meet those operational availability requirements or goals as specified by the Performance Work Standard (PWS).
Support all Communications Security (COMSEC) and TEMPEST requirements. Perform message handling tasks as specified by the PWS.II
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and maintain the FAB-T terminal.
- Ensures FAB-T operational availability.
- Ensures all FAB-T requirements are satisfied, provides rapid diagnosis of failures and initiates and /or directs rapid restoral actions, examines system degradation, trends, and failures.
- Supports all COMSEC, and TEMPEST requirements as designated.
- Reports system anomalies immediately to the SATCOM Manager, effects repairs, and reports equipment status.
- Uses appropriate checklists, Technical Orders and Operational Instructions in the operation and repair of all FAB-T equipment.
- Maintains cryptographic and IDS equipment assigned.
- Ensures all site message traffic is processed correctly.
- Perform duties as COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) and/or Secure Voice Responsible Officer (SVRO)
- Serve as the focal point to coordinate and de-conflict all MILSATCOM communication system upgrades and DISA node upgrades ensuring adherence to applicable DISA STIGs (e.g., Web Server STIG) for private/public Information System (IS) separation.
- Performs other duties as required.

B. Supervision Received - Works under the general supervision of the Satellite Communications Maintenance/Operations Technician Lead and SATCOM Manager.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
A. Physical Tasks Exerts limited physical energy. May have to handle 20-30 pound loads on occasion.
B. Working Conditions - Computing center environment. May work extended hours or weekends. May travel overnight or on weekends.
C. Security Clearance - SECRET
