The Space Vehicles team is growing and comprises a cross-disciplinary group of industry veterans and young talent alike. The focus is on the development of satellite buses, Orbital Maneuvering Vehicles (OMVs), space tugs, and more.

The Arvada, CO location is nestled near the foothills of the front range, just west of Denver.

The office is a 10-minute drive from downtown Golden and Arvada and is an easy commute from most of the Denver Metro area.

Colorado offers year-round outdoor activities and is a melting pot of cultures.

Our team in Moog Space and Defense Group is looking for an Software Engineer to join our Space Vehicles team in Arvada, CO.

You will have a 9/80 on-site work schedule.

To be considered for the Software Engineer role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

A BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent program.
Competence in the C, C++, Python, and machine learning/AI design languages.
Competence in software design including application development, graphical user interface design and algorithm development.
Capable of creating low level software design requirements from high level specifications.
Capable of architecting and designing complex software packages including Linux device drivers.
Familiarity with Linux and its associated programming languages and constructs.
Ability to create software test code as standalone modules.
Ability to write Python or C++ code to implement mathematical algorithms.
Capable of utilizing packages that assist in the development of complex software in Python and C++.
Capable of developing machine learning and artificial intelligence using convolutional neural network constructs.
Capable of using ML/AI packages such as Tensor Flow, Pandas, and Keras.
Capable of using OpenCV and other image processing applications.
Familiar with Python packages such as NumPy and SciPy.
Capable of utilizing Scikit-learn machine learning libraries for development of ML applications.
Understanding of the Linux operating system, Linux kernel operation and design and Linux device driver creation.
Familiar with agile software development methods and is comfortable executing within those methods.
Experience or exposure to Embedded software engineering.

As a Software Engineer , you will:

Initiates applications of new technology and processes into software design/production.
Designs complex software using modern design methods to include agile methods.
Generates design concepts, design trade‐off studies and prepares presentations for design or customer reviews.
Helps with developing initial build and production software through procurement, fabrication, and test phases.
Produces design documentation such as technical reports, user manuals, and data sheets for software products.
Interacts with customers, business partners and vendors coordinating technical, cost and product matters.
Reviews customer specifications or requirements and prepares technical proposal information. Also contributes to the development of engineering cost estimates.
Keep current in the technology and informed of new processes, methods and advances in applicable fields.

Salary Range:
The base pay range for this opportunity is $80,080 - $104,000 per year.

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
