DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW


The Local Development and Membership team (LDM) enables the GBH Educational Foundation to carry out its public media mission by raising annual contributions from individuals for TV, Radio, and Web program support, as well as special projects at GBH and the Cape & Islands Radio Station.

LDM oversees fundraising and relationship building through direct response solicitations for all GBH-affiliated TV and radio stations, member engagement, and events to provide GBH with the economic resources needed to pursue its mission.

LDM coordinates with The Contributor Development Partnership (CDP) as appropriate. The Audience Member Services team (AMS) services GBH constituents, CAI constituents, and viewers nationwide through GBH's production units.


JOB OVERVIEW


Reporting to the Audience Member Services and Stewardship Director, the Operations Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the Audience and Member Services (AMS) team.

This position will perform a variety of data entry-related tasks to position the Member Development Representative group to resolve constituent-related inquiries efficiently.

The role will be primarily responsible for accurately recording cash transactions and creating and distributing membership cases. They will also support the Director of AMS & Stewardship, Audience and Member Services, and the Operations Manager.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-day:

  • Cash Management:
  • Work with the Operations Manager to manage inoffice cash management procedures, including working with Major Gifts and Accounting teams to align on routing procedures and verify check totals
  • Generate records in CRM to accurately reflect membership revenue through direct donations and matching gifts
  • Generate outbound deposit packages, communicate with 3rd party organizations (MooreRMG and CDP) for cashrelated items
  • Create and distribute donation rejection notice cases for the AMS team
  • Data Hygiene:
  • Have an advanced understanding of the case creation/coding process accurately record all member and nonmember activities received by other foundation departments in the CRM Database
  • Serve as point of contact for account merges, maintenance, and other datarelated issues such as locating and associating gifts
  • Constituent/AMS Support:
  • Supporting the inhouse events team, acting as a liaison between AMS and events on premium events and other communications
  • Manage inbound physical mailing correspondence with constituents and distribution of foundational mail
  • Work with the Operations Manager to coordinate package returns in the office and processing/tracking of inhouse premiums
  • Owning digital premium fulfillment process from donation to execution of deliverables to donors and AMS team
  • This role will involve weekly visits to the office and may require weekend and/or overtime work

SKILLS SET

  • Knowledge of CRMs and databases is highly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; process oriented supporting continuous process improvements
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interdepartmental communication skills
  • Knowledge of GBH and nonprofit media a plus
  • Strong track record of making positive impacts on client service satisfaction and efficiencies
  • Ability to build relationships with other departments
  • Ability to manage multiple highlevel/highpriority projects at once

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
