- Perform various grounds duties including but not limited to: leaf-raking, planting and mulch replacement; lawn care to include mowing, edging, trimming trees and hedges; as well as seasonal snow and ice removal.
- Digs ditches for plumbing projects and maintaining and repairing sewer lines.
- Picks up litter and maintains outdoor trash and ash um receptacles.
- Assists in various general maintenance projects, such as carpentry welding or plumbing projects, construction, leveling and repair of sidewalks, repairing holes in asphalt, layout and lining of athletic fields.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- One (1) year experience in grounds keeping
- Possess good organizational skills and able to communicate effectively
- Possess a clean and valid Texas driver's license for at least three (3) years
- Possesses dexterity, lifting capacity (up to 50lbs), and ability to walk up to 100% of the time in accordance with job demands.
- Ability to follow safety precautions. Job may entail moderate exposure to chemical, environmental, and various other hazards that require strict adherence to procedures

Essential Functions
This position is a mid-level landscaping position.
The incumbent would be expected to operate equipment and maintain campus grounds by performing a combination of tasks necessary in order to provide for an attractive and safe campus setting.
Required Application Materials
Generally, the hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch.
The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department.
