Job Purpose:


The Community Resource Specialist will provide Maggie's Place moms, current and alumni, with education, advocacy, support, and resources, focused on parenting and child development.

The goal of this position is to build meaningful partnerships with community agencies, provide Maggie's Place moms with additional external resources, assist with child enrichment programs, home visitation, support program operations at the FSC, and case management.

The Community Resource Specialist provides support, outreach assistance, crisis management, and ongoing communication.


Responsibilities

  • Build partnerships with community agencies who may provide additional resources for Maggie's Place moms.
  • Represents Maggie's Place in various program collaboration committees.
  • Conducts outreach to locate and engage families.
  • Assists families in identifying goals related to their overall health and selfsufficiency within the structure of a Family Goal Plan.
  • Assists and supports parents in identifying issues related to trauma and/or mental health concerns that may be impacting ability to parent safely and effectively.
  • Provides basic parenting education (focused on parentchild interaction) and models healthy behaviors and interactions to families in the home and in the community.
  • Provides support along with basic health and life skills instruction, e.g. prenatal care, immunizations, budgeting, etc.; ensures appropriate utilization of needed health and social services.
  • Provides case management, crisis intervention, and connects clients to community resources as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains communication with other involved parties on a regular basis.
  • Completes all required case file documentation and data entry in a timely and appropriate manner as required by program, HFA standards, and Agency.
  • Any additional projects or tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience:


  • BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent years of experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years program experience working with a traumatized vulnerable population such as the population served by Maggie's Place.
  • Must be able to represent/reflect Maggie's Place in a positive and professional manner to all avenues of the community.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) a plus.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work as an effective team player is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must have effective organizational, problemsolving, timemanagement and analytical skills.
  • Strong decisionmaking skills supported by a proactive problemsolving approach
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities based on daily operations.

Additional Requirements:


  • Must possess or have regular access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver license and active auto insurance.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs is required.

Pay:
$ $26.00 per hour


Expected hours:
No more than 40 per week
