- Greets customers in person or over the telephone and assists customers with new and refill prescriptions, answers customers' questions, and resolving customers' complaints.
- Reviews prescriptions for accuracy and completeness. Processes prescription information in the computer per insurance and CCHS guidelines.
- Prepares prescriptions at the direction of the pharmacist by counting, pouring, weighing, and or measuring medications. Selects appropriate container and affixes correct labels.
- Accepts and gives prescription information according to State law and CCHS policies.
- Uses point-of-sale equipment to record sale of prescriptions and collects proper payments according to Pharmacy guidelines. Asks patients if they want to be counseled on their medications and refers them to pharmacist, if needed. Completes customer transactions on the cash register, verifying customer information (correcting, as needed) and collecting customer payments.
- Refers customer to supervisor when the customer requires specific counseling.
- Reconciles and balances cash drawer, prepares end-of-day reports, and prepares deposit and change order.
- Assists other staff members with restocking shelves, checking stock and pulling expired stock.
- Cancels medications that have been sitting for six days.
- Contacts customers by phone to pick up prescriptions.
- Establishes and maintains patient profiles and records on computer using Pharmacy software.
- Stocks medications and takes inventories at the direction of a pharmacist. Orders medications as needed.
- Ensures the appearance of the store is pleasing to customers and meets the requirements of the Corporate Office, performing required housekeeping tasks.
- Performs transfer upon request of patient, pharmacist, or outside pharmacy.
- Takes verbal orders or clarifications from provider or nurses, if necessary.
- Must be willing to travel to any of the five locations and perform duties required by the Pharmacist.
- Performs other duties, as needed.

Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Technician ( Floater) performs routine tasks at the direction of a pharmacist including processing/verifying prescription information, filling prescriptions, filing forms, answering phone calls and overseeing inventory. Additionally, the Pharmacy Technician will be expected to float between five locations as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school plus specialized training (completion of accredited Pharmacy Technician program).
Experience: At least one year experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Previous customer service experience and handling cash preferred; requires basic computer skills. Previous experience working with medications preferred.
Licenses or Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required. Incumbents must be registered with the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
May work at two different pharmacy locations in the same day; therefore, must have mid-shift transportation (ie, personal vehicle).
