POSITION:

PAINTER

TERMS OF

EMPLOYMENT:
12 Months - 40-hour work week as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent
Three years' experience in painting
Limited maintenance skills
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
Able to effectively navigate and operate cellphone, computer and district software
Must have a current and valid Illinois driver's license

REPORTS TO:
Director of Facility Operations and/or Building Services Coordinator

JOB GOAL:
Responsible for all functions associated with painting, plastering, wall covering and refinishing

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform all tasks as assigned by the Director of Facility Operations and/or designee

Reading and completing work orders

Responsible for painting the interior (cabinets, classrooms, halls, ceilings, walls, etc.) and exterior (soffits, doors and frames, hand rails, etc.)

of the District buildings

When preparing surfaces for painting:

Covers floors and furniture with drop cloths in order to keep surfaces free of paint
Applies base and finish coats with spray, rollers, or paint brushes
Maintains safety and proper storage of paints, supplies and tools

Orders all paint materials, drywall, and wall coverings

Keeps inventory of paint and supplies

Utilizes ladders, lifts, and scaffolding in order to reach high areas

Ability to mix and match existing surface coating materials

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ability to work flexible schedule

Self-starter and be able to work alone

Reports on each job assignment detailing time and materials used on each task or project

Ensures that ALL safety rules are followed

Pay:
$ $25.21 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
