    Rivers Agile specializes in building software products for other small- to medium-sized businesses.

    Only candidates local to the greater Pittsburgh area will be considered. Onsite work is temporarily required for this project.
    Position overviewYou will join a team of QA Engineers with technical skills as deep as they are diverse.

    For your first project, you will be contributing to a hardware and software integrated virtual reality product currently in its research and development phase.

    Skills requiredExperience testing high tech integrated hardware and software solutions with understanding of how they are built and configured for testing purposesProficient at using non-traditional means for deriving requirements.

    This includes leading meetings with the rest of the team to collect the necessary inputs to the testing process, informing the techniques, protocols, and test scenarios to be writtenAbility and willingness to function as a central collection point for bugs discovered in the fieldStrong process orientation, knowledge of software development and quality assurance methodologies, and the ability to apply them pragmaticallyAbility to influence testing and quality improvements across the team by mentoring and evangelizingExpert technical troubleshooting and sleuthing skillsAbility to write test plans and bug reports that are clear and actionableIntermediate coding skills, ability to understand code, and familiarity with mercurial-based (or similar) source control commits, pushes, and managementOther qualifications and plusesFlexible mindset to deal with a fast paced environment with frequent changes to process and expectationsAbility to inspire and support change through quality advocacy using a positive and constructive demeanorExperience working with R&D teams, and understanding how your testing approach may change as a resultMinimum 5 years of software testing experience with a proven ability to improve the impact of Quality Assurance within an organizationBachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experienceAn extremely detail-oriented approach with respect to documentation and communicationUnderstanding of Agile software development processes, best practices, and the bug life cycleExperience with test automation is a plusEffectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences and stakeholdersBeing comfortable in command line environments is a plusExperience testing android-based devices and configuring them via ADBPackage: salaried position, bonus program, full benefits (medical, dental, vision, supplementary), holidays, paid time off, 401(k) plan, good work-life balance, work from home options for future projects
