9:00 A.M - 5:00 P.M
Duties & Responsibilities:
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Responsible for screening uninsured or underinsured outpatients to identify insurance coverage or enrollment eligibility. Screenings most often occur as walk in or scheduled appointments with the patients.
- Assist outpatients that do not qualify for enrollment with charity care programs.
- Scan patient ID, insurance card(s), referral forms (if applicable) and consent forms obtained from the patient into document imaging system.
- Document patient information clearly and completely in the Health Information System (HIS)
- Interview and discuss outstanding balance and payment options.
- Interact with other departments to identify patient status determinations and changes.
- Refer accounts requiring escalation to Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Attend all necessary training sessions to effectively perform the daytoday functions of the position.
- Perform all other duties, as assigned by the Patient Access Manager or Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department
- Twelves (12) months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience
Skills Requirement:
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
