    POSITION SUMMARY

Blueprint AmeriCorps Math Fellows are full or part-time tutors charged with providing students with highly personalized small-group instruction in mathematics during the regular school day. Working with 4-8 students at a time in a small group setting, our Fellows deliver individualized lessons collaborating closely with teachers to accelerate students' academic achievement. Beyond academics, Blueprint AmeriCorps Math Fellows strive to cultivate strong relationships with students fostering their self-confidence and commitment to education. Joining the Blueprint AmeriCorps Math Fellows program is an opportunity to make a positive and meaningful impact in the lives of students.

While teachers manage classrooms of 25 to 30 students, Blueprint AmeriCorps Math Fellows conduct lessons tailored to small groups of students using a provided curriculum and foster student collaboration to enhance the learning experience. This allows for the individualization of supportive and supplemental instruction, encouraging students to interact, share ideas, and articulate their thoughts in a safe space. Providing individualized lessons that align with students' needs, interests, and passions, Fellows deliver data-driven instruction that significantly impacts student achievement and inspires a lifelong love of learning. By using math as the vehicle, Fellows foster critical thinkers, confident communicators, and engaged citizens who embrace questioning, reflection, self-assessment, visualization, positive response to feedback, perseverance, and internalize goal setting as a tool for continuous self-improvement.

Blueprint AmeriCorps Math Fellows receive curriculum materials, training, ongoing coaching, mentoring, and professional development as well as written evaluation of feedback from their assigned Site Manager, Associate Site Manager, and/or Lead Fellow. Blueprint AmeriCorps Math Fellows are charged with focusing on the individual needs of their students, helping to accelerate student achievement and close any opportunity gaps that may exist.
