Job Description and Responsibilities:


  • Shadow members of the Safety Team to learn the Safety Department processes
  • Gain familiarity with process of conducting site safety inspections, site specific plans and other relevant safety functions
  • Gain familiarity with OSHA compliance standards and inspections
  • Help facilitate safety meetings and New Hire Safety Training (level of participation depends on ability)
  • Assist tracking and managing of Safety related reporting
  • Assist with teaching field employees to use available technology in completing safety required reporting
  • Work with field to ensure Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) are completed daily with accuracy
  • Prepare, take and pass OSHA 500 certification (once approved)
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Position Skills and Requirements:


  • Minimum of an OSHA 30 certification and at least 1 year working in an environment where safety is a fundamental component of operations
  • Bilingual (fluent in Spanish & English)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Be familiar and proficient with computers
  • Able to work in changing weather conditions
  • Mobility: able to climb, bend stoop, including site visits to elevated locations (not afraid of heights)
  • Capable of obtaining an OSHA 500 certification
  • Must have good organization skills, problem solving skills and be selfmotivated while maintaining the willingness to work in a team atmosphere
  • Capable of learning new processes without repeated instruction
  • Able to follow directions and guidance from other senior members of Safety Dept.

Education Required
High School Graduate/GED, Four-year college degree preferred


Pay:
From $17.00 per hour
