Job Overview:


Chugach is looking for a highly qualified, experienced, and self-motivated individual to perform the duties of an Information Security Specialist - SCIF Manager (Junior Level).

The Information Security Specialist position is required to have skills and knowledge to conduct the day-to-day scheduling and management of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), security education and training programs for headquarters and overseas members of the workforce, and portions of the physical security program.

Responsibilities:


Essential Duties & Job Functions:


  • Applies practical knowledge of commonly applied information security principles, concepts, and methodologies to resolve welldefined questions or conditions.
  • Identifies information requiring protection, such as documents, materials, and devices, and designates the level of protection based on prescribed parameters, welldefined procedures, as well as internal and external policies.
  • Manages the daytoday scheduling, opening, closing and other required actions for the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).
  • Assists in designing and conducting information security inspections and surveys in support of efforts to assess the security of the organization's classified national security information procedures and implementing policies.
  • Identifies and performs preliminary inquiries of incidents involving the mishandling of classified information.
  • Recommends followup actions and closure of preliminary inquiries. Assists with the classification and declassification of materials and information.
  • Reports unusual or unfamiliar documentation to supervisor or higher graded specialist.
  • Communicates with customers on a daily basis.
  • Provides indoctrinations and debriefings when applicable.
  • Responsible for setting up Secure Video Teleconference Equipment (SVTC) and secure phones.
  • Checks clearances/badges upon entry.
  • Ensures PEDs are not brought into the SCIFs.
  • Plans and provides instruction covering a wide variety of security topics in wellestablished areas of a security program. Uses a wide range of teaching methods or tools, depending on the students' learning requirements. Courses are highly structured and have a variety of available training materials. Resolves instructional problems related to typical problems of communication and student motivation.
  • Maintain ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures, and SOPs.

Job Requirements:

Mandatory:


  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Three (3) years of experience, education, and/or training in Industrial and Information Security
  • TS/SCI Security Clearance Required with a SSBI/SBPR completed within the past 7 years
  • Working knowledge of ICD 704 and EO 1352
  • Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
