- Assist in setup of machine, tooling, and fixtures.
- Use beginner's knowledge of M&G code and makes minor adjustments to meet production goals.
- Use appropriate measuring tools to assure required quality standards are met.
- Follow all verbal and written instructions pertaining to the operation of the CNC machine and related equipment as well as any other jobs to which he/she may be assigned.
- Produce quality parts, which include the placement of raw material, assisting in the removal of parts and packing, and cutting parts by hand (where applicable).
- Responsible for successfully completing all training, including STEPS training (JIT, 6-S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma, SPC), Basic Computer Skills, Basic Math, Blueprint Reading, and CNC trainee-level courses
- Use a working knowledge of GSS, Raw Material Tickets, Work-In-Process/Finished Goods/Inventory Tickets, Set-up Charts, Rework/Defective Parts, End of Shift Paperwork, Route Sheets, Understanding of Tool Storage/Staging Operation.
- Responsible for following safety guidelines, handling parts and general housekeeping.
- In good standing with Shelby County High School and will be enrolled in eligible work-based learning program - machine tool pathway.
- Able to meet physical requirements for the position, which includes ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and frequently up to 25 lbs; frequently walk and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

- at least two letters of recommendation from instructors or other school representatives;
- a current copy of school transcripts; and
- a statement demonstrating current enrollment in an educational institution and/or co-operative program.

Job Description
Seeking a student to work under direct supervision to learn and operate CNC equipment. Will assist with setting up tools and equipment to operate CNC equipment. Machine material as specified by work orders, blueprints and diagrams and then complete quality inspections of products while following guidelines and restrictions for student workers. Must be enrolled in qualifying work-based learning program at Shelby County High School.
General Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned. May require assistance of a Maintenance Mechanic A in performance duties in a specific area, or require more assistance and direction from the Maintenance Team Coordinator.
Schedule: This person will work five days per week; 3-5 hours per day during school sessions; opportunity for more during school breaks.
